Climbing Instructor

We are looking for an enthusiastic Climbing Instructor to join our Outdoor Education team. Climbing forms a staple part of the Outdoor Education programme at Cokethorpe. The School boasts an onsite climbing tower and training area with plans to develop a brand new climbing facility by 2024. The School’s Climbing Team meet during senior Games sessions and represent the School at a high level in climbing competitions and have access to annual trips as well as a range of offsite visits. Climbing can also be accessed through the AOB programme with the focus on developing the skills of new climbers through weekly sessions.

The post holder will be responsible for the climbing provision that forms part of the Games and AOB programme. Reporting to the Head of Outdoor Education, they will support the safe running of climbing activities, including the planning of sessions, maintenance of equipment and organisation of climbing groups. Sessions will be delivered both independently and alongside qualified staff from the School. Climbing Games and AOB take place during the School day during term time. In addition to the term time responsibilities, there may be opportunities to be involved in the wider aspects of Outdoor Education at Cokethorpe including UK and  international trips, competitions and Cokethorpe Camps.
