We are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher of Chemistry. The Science Department consists of 13 teaching members of staff and 3 technicians. Within that team, the Chemistry Department is made up of 4 teaching colleagues and is supported by two technicians. Science teachers are expected to be part of the delivery of Lower School Science in First Form and Second Form (Years 7 and 8). The role advertised is for a teacher of Chemistry but for the right candidate with suitable experience and vision there is an opportunity to be Head of Subject, with associated allowance and responsibilities. This would involve leading the teaching and learning of the subject, and supporting wider Science Department and school policies. This includes preparing pupils and students for publics exams, along with setting and standardising the marking of internal exams. The Head of Chemistry also meets regularly with the Head of Science and the Heads of Physics and Biology, as well as leading Chemistry Department meetings. A full job description is available.
