Lower Sixth A Level Drama pupils delivered a remarkable performance in Me, Myself and Others, a devised piece that explored the complexities and lived experience of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). The production demonstrated both the intellectual depth and emotional sensitivity of the pupils’ work, offering audiences a compelling insight into a condition that is so often misunderstood.
Coco (L6 Harcourt) and Kacy (L6 Vanbrugh) brought extraordinary versatility to a wide array of roles, each portrayal handled with great nuance and empathy. Their physical performance, inspired by the renowned theatre practitioners DV8, was intricate, mesmerising, and richly symbolic, serving to further illuminate the internal landscape of individuals living with DID.

The piece was developed using verbatim material drawn from a wide range of sources, including the testimony of individuals currently under section in mental health facilities. This approach brought a deep authenticity to the work, enriching its emotional resonance and underlining the importance of compassion and awareness in conversations surrounding mental health.
Xander (Fourth Form, Vanbrugh) offered skilful support throughout the process, contributing to a performance that was as technically accomplished as it was thought-provoking.

Me, Myself and Others stood not only as a testament to the pupils’ creative and academic engagement but also as a powerful reminder of theatre’s ability to provoke meaningful reflection and empathy.
