A Taste of Sixth Form Life

Oct 14, 2025

Our Fifth Form pupils recently stepped into the shoes of Sixth Formers for a day, immersing themselves in a packed programme designed to give them a real taste of what life is like beyond GCSEs.

The day offered a valuable opportunity to explore the academic and personal development pathways that make up our dynamic Sixth Form experience. Pupils took part in sample A Level lessons across a variety of subjects, helping them to better understand the depth of learning involved and the subjects available to study.

The day included a taster of our Electives and Sixth Form Skills programme. Pupils sampled two popular electives – Welcome to Dystopia and A World in Conflict and also took part in a carousel of Sixth Form Skills sessions, including: How to Meditate, How to Manage Money, How to Save a Life, How to Disagree Agreeably, How to Think Critically, How to Cook and How to Speak in Public.

They also had the chance to speak with current Upper Sixth students, asking questions about day-to-day life, workload, and the many opportunities that come with being part of the Sixth Form community. This peer insight helped give our Fifth Form pupils a clearer picture of what to expect, and what to look forward to.
