Reception pupils had a truly memorable day out on Friday as they visited Cotswold Farm Park for a fun-filled day of hands-on learning, new experiences and sunshine. The weather was kind throughout, making it a perfect day for exploring the farm and meeting the animals.
The visit began with one of the bravest moments of the day as the children fed goats and sheep by hand, showing confidence and care as the animals gently took the food. Excitement grew as the group moved on to bottle-feeding hungry lambs and kids, with the pupils working hard to make sure each one had their fill.
In the barn, the atmosphere was calm and gentle as the children met some of the smaller animals. A highlight for many was cuddling the baby chicks, with every pupil taking great care to stroke them softly. Chip the rabbit also proved popular, enjoying the attention and affection from his visitors.
After a busy morning, the group paused for lunch and some time to play on the bouncing pillows under blue skies. The final part of the day was a relaxing tractor ride around the farm, offering one last chance to take in the surroundings and reflect on all they had seen and done.
It was a fantastic day of exploration, discovery and joyful learning – one that will stay with the children for a long time to come.
