Outdoor Education

Outdoor Education

Accessed through AOBs, Games, Curriculum Enrichment, expeditions, and DofE,
Outdoor Education offers both competitive and recreational pathways.
Facilities include a 10-metre climbing tower, boathouse, woodland, outdoor classroom, clay-shooting traps, rifle and pistol ranges, and space for show jumping
events on site.

Marathon Kayaking

Operating from our Boathouse on the Thames, pupils train for the Junior Doubles category of the Devizes–Westminster international marathon canoe race, covering 125 miles over Easter weekend.

Shooting

With on-site clay traps and a successful shooting team, pupils can participate through AOBs or as a main sport; additional ranges include .22 and air rifle, pistol, and archery.

Pre-Prep Adventurers Club

Each week, Pre-Prep children head to The Woods  our dedicated outdoor learning area  to build dens, toast marshmallows, and explore local flora and fauna, developing key cognitive, sensory, and motor skills.

Sailing

Offered as a main sport and as an AOB/Prep Activity, pupils sail Fireflies and Picos, predominantly at Farmoor Reservoir, and compete in regattas and matches throughout the season.

Climbing

On-site tower and indoor bouldering wall support climbers of all abilities. As a sport and an AOB, pupils enjoy competitions and trips to regional facilities and natural rock faces.

Duke of Edinburgh

Senior pupils progress through Bronze, Silver, and Gold, training in our rural setting and on expeditions to Exmoor. The benefits complement our Leadership Programme.
