Welcome to Cokethorpe Sport
Prep Sport
Expert, qualified coaches deliver sessions in outstanding facilities across our sports hall, astroturf, and games pitches. Participation underpins everything: children discover sports they enjoy and compete at appropriate levels, from Inter-House and School representation to purely recreational play. Pre-Prep focuses on core skills through gymnastics and ball games, culminating in a joyful mini-Olympics in the Summer Term. From Year 3, boys and girls receive specialist Games coaching twice weekly, with major sports including rugby, football, netball, cricket, hockey, rounders, athletics, tennis, and cross country; additional coaching is offered after school. As a member of IAPS, the Prep competes nationally and has enjoyed success in squash, inland sailing, and swimming.
PE lessons include mixed tag rugby, athletics, and tennis, and the Activities Programme adds swimming, golf, dance, horse riding, and sailing.

Senior Sport
Sport is integral to Senior life: excellence balanced by participation across a wide range: rugby; hockey; football; netball; cricket; tennis; equestrian; athletics; badminton;
gym; and golf. The parkland setting, climbing wall, golf course, and clay pigeon range underpin a reputation for sporting excellence. Specialist coaches share passion and
high-level experience; many pupils compete through local clubs and progress to County, National, and International levels, including those preparing for professional scholarships.
Elite Athlete Programme
Delivered in partnership with Oxford University, the Programme supports
regional-standard and above athletes with strength and conditioning, nutrition,
and sport psychology, balancing academic study with performance to help pupils thrive.
