Our Prep Christingle Service was a truly moving moment in the school calendar, filling the Chapel with warmth, candlelight and the quiet magic that marks this time of year.
Year 2 made beautiful Christingles for every class, and Mrs Black enlisted the help of pupils in the congregation to describe the significance of each element, the overall message being that the Christingle is a symbol of God’s love. Our Year 6 readers, Ella (Lockwood), Oliver (Symonds), William (Baker) and Marnie (Gwyn) told the Christmas story beautifully from the pulpit, and everyone sang with great heart.
Ella commented, ‘This was my first Christingle. It was a really serene and relaxing experience.’ Marnie thought, ‘It felt really spiritual and atmospheric to be in the Chapel with the whole Prep School.’ Oliver said, ‘It was a real honour to read at the service’ and William highlighted the sentiment of the occasion, ‘It was a good opportunity to be together and think about the true meaning of Christmas’.
