Each fortnight, at the Headmaster’s assembly, we celebrate academic excellence in the form of the Optimum Awards. Any pupil in the Senior School can be nominated for an Optimum by their subject teachers in recognition of academic work that showcases academic distinction.
Last week, Freya (Third Form, Feilden) was commended by Mme Boubkari, following an outstanding piece of written work on the topic of technology, which showcased a variety of different tenses and a varied vocabulary. William (Second Form, Gascoigne) and Alex (Second Form, Swift) were singled out by Dr Flaherty in recognition of their excellent attention to detail in programming in Python, and Nancy’s (Upper Sixth, Swift) outstanding work in A Level Textiles was commended by Mrs Pollard. Adam (Lower Sixth, Gascoigne) and Alice (Lower Sixth, Swift) were recognised for their excellent approach to Psychology, and Oscar (Upper Sixth, Vanbrugh) for his successful application to Christ Church college.
Each half term, the Headmaster hosts a tea to which all recipients of an Optimum are invited as a means to celebrate their pursuit of excellence.
