During their CEW, the Second Form embarked on an unforgettable adventure to the beautiful south coast of Devon. From the moment they pitched their bell tents and settled into camp life, it was clear this would be a week to remember.
Pupils took on a packed programme of outdoor activities designed to challenge and inspire. Archery tested their focus and precision – with a few bullseyes along the way – while bushcraft sessions saw them building shelters, learning survival skills, and enjoying the simple pleasure of toasting marshmallows over an open fire to make s’mores.
On the water, pupils paddled along the glittering coastline in sea kayaks, spotting marine wildlife in the shallows, while the giant stand-up paddleboard (SUP) brought plenty of laughs as teams balanced, played games, and occasionally took an unexpected splash! Coasteering proved a highlight for many: scrambling over rocks, leaping into the sea, and swimming through inlets, surrounded by shimmering moon jellyfish. Back on land, a coastal hike offered sweeping views and a well-earned ice cream at the finish. Evenings at camp were just as memorable, filled with Twister at sunset, impromptu games of rugby and football, and quiet moments of card games and chats by torchlight.
From adrenaline-fuelled adventures to peaceful evenings under the stars, the Devon trip was a week of courage, laughter, and friendship – one that left everyone with stories to tell and memories to treasure
