As part of their Roman topic in History lessons, Year 3 visited the Corinium Museum in Cirencester and were able to see some of the incredible finds from the Roman town of Corinium – now Cirencester. One of the first interesting facts pupils learned on their visit was that ‘Corinium Dobunnorum’ was the name for the town in Roman times. The museum is packed full of artefacts and displays for pupils to explore and offers an invaluable opportunity to see what they have been learning about in the classroom up close.
Whilst at the museum, Year 3 took part in a brilliant, informative workshop, which gave them an insight into how Romans lived whilst occupying Britain between AD43 and AD410. The highlight for many of the pupils was trying on Roman-style clothing!
