From Durham to the Fringe

Katie’s Playwriting Debut with AftertasteWe spoke to Katie Procter (2020, Feilden) about her achievements since leaving Cokethorpe.

“I’ve just graduated from Durham University with a First Class Honours in Liberal Arts, studying English, French and Visual Arts. The real highlight of my degree was the year spent studying abroad in Toulouse at the Université Toulouse Jean-Jaurès, where I attended classes in French and, some might say, got a little too used to the French way of life!

Alongside my studies, I have discovered a love for theatre, and have spent the past four years writing, directing and producing shows in Durham. Having attended the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the past two consecutive years as a student reviewer, and then editor for Ed Fringe Review, I am so excited to announce I have recently made my playwriting debut with my show Aftertaste, which I am also directing and executive producing, and will be heading to Edinburgh in summer 2025.”
