We are thrilled to share with you that Third Form pupil, Freya (Queen Anne) has won ‘best story’ in a prestigious national ‘Write your own Historical Fiction’ competition run by the Historical Association.
Freya wrote a piece entitled ‘The Disaster’. Judge Tony Bradman had this to say about her work: ‘An excellent, very well-researched story that explores the intelligence side of the war – a real thriller that had me gripped from start to finish.’
This is a national competition which attracts a large number of entries and invites pupils from Year 5 to Third Form to demonstrate their historical and English fiction writing skills, Freya’s entry was submitted by the History Department. ‘The Disaster’ will be printed in the forthcoming edition of The Ocellus, so please do look out for it. Congratulations to Freya, this is a truly incredible achievement.
