The CPFA’s much-anticipated annual Murder Mystery evening returned on Saturday 7 February with a brilliantly entertaining production entitled Lights, Camera, Assassination!
Guests were transported to a live recording of the explosive daytime television show The Frank Report, where they found themselves at the centre of family feuds, shocking scandals, dramatic DNA test results, and tense lie-detector revelations. The evening delivered no shortage of gasp-worthy moments, bold accusations and unexpected twists, keeping the audience guessing until the very end.

A particular highlight of the night was seeing members of staff take to the stage in wildly different roles from their usual classroom personas. Kacy (Upper Sixth, Vanbrugh) shared her enthusiasm: “What a night! Seeing our teachers step out of their usual roles and become hilarious, dramatic characters was such a joy. What really stood out was how quick and witty they were with their improv. Their comebacks were sharp, their timing was perfect, and they had the whole room laughing from start to finish.”
The interactive nature of the event added to the excitement, with guests invited to question suspects and piece together clues from their tables. Head of School, Mida (Upper Sixth, Feilden), reflected: “The CPFA Murder Mystery evening was really interactive, with the teachers fully committing to their roles and staying in character while answering questions from our tables. It made solving the mystery feel realistic and exciting, and everyone got really involved in piecing the clues together. Overall, it was a really enjoyable and memorable night. I would definitely go again!”

Full of laughter, suspense and spirited performances, this year’s Murder Mystery evening proved once again to be a highlight of the School calendar, bringing the community together for an unforgettable night of drama and fun.
