The Lower Sixth Geographers recently returned from a week staying at ‘Naturesbase’, an environmental education and field study centre set in the stunning landscapes of West Wales, where they carried out essential fieldwork for their Non-Examined Assessments (NEAs) — a key part of their A Level studies.
With a focus on regeneration and development in rural and coastal communities, the students had the opportunity to study the natural, built and coastal environment. The group spent three intensive days gathering primary data in Aberystwyth, Lampeter and Aberaeron.
Throughout the trip, the students worked with maturity, curiosity, and teamwork, proving themselves not only diligent researchers but fantastic ambassadors for Cokethorpe. The week ended on a well-earned high note with a visit to New Quay, a picturesque seaside village renowned for its marine wildlife, where students watched the sunset and the amazing harbour dolphins.
