As we bid farewell to the Class of 2023 following the receipt of their final results today, warm and hearty congratulations are in order, with 27 percent of all grades awarded an A* or A grade and ten percent of all results awarded at the A* grade.
When writing to parents about today’s results, the Headmaster reflected that, “the adage ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ often comes to mind as our students conclude the final association with childhood through the end of their school careers. It is a fitting moment to reflect on the many influencers and supporters who have played their parts in delivering them to their outcomes, and to shaping the young adults they are today…my thanks and compliments to our staff for their dedication, passion, and professionalism over the course of the weeks, months, and years which have culminated in today’s results. Whether your child is among those in receipt of their results today or not, my thanks too to you, our pupils’ and students’ parents, without whose steadfast support and guidance none of this would be possible.”
Alongside the successes of today’s results were some equally impressive courses at institutions across the UK, including Chemistry at the University of St Andrews; Engineering at Durham University; Psychology at the University of Bristol; Business at the University of Exeter; and Geography at the University of Edinburgh.
The Headmaster went on to write that, “I am so often reminded through the visits of Old Cokethorpeans returning to the School that our pupils and students are all so much more than can be summed up in three or four letters being awarded. The contributions made across the spectrum of Cokethorpe life have been as varied and colourful as the students are themselves.”
We look forward to following their careers as they step forward as Old Cokethorpeans into their next chapters.
