ISI Inspection Report
The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) is a body approved by the Secretary of State for Education and Skills for the purpose of inspecting independent schools in the Independent Schools Council under Section 162 of the Education Act 2002. The purposes of inspection are to ensure that standards are maintained and that schools comply with the relevant legal requirements. Recommendations are included to help schools improve.
Regulatory Compliance Inspection reports provide a summary only of whether a school meets, or does not meet, the minimum standards required by the relevant regulations (Independent School Standards Regulations, National Minimum Standards and Early Years Foundation Stage statutory requirements as applicable).
The Head, Governors and staff were delighted to receive an ‘excellent’ rating for Educational Quality from our recent ISI inspection. This is indicative of the sustained progress made by pupils at Cokethorpe and the benefits they are receiving from our adoption of innovative teaching methods. The wealth of opportunities they receive by way of academic enrichment, creative exploration, sporting pursuits and otherwise, and both the sense of responsibility and the wider leadership qualities they demonstrate so readily were also acknowledged and celebrated by the Inspectors.
