Charles Dickens’ timeless tale was spectacularly brought to life in the Senior School production of A Christmas Carol. With stunning performances from all the cast, the audience were transported to the bitter streets of Victorian London as they watched the ghosts of Christmas past, present and yet to come to visit the miserly and cantankerous Ebenezer Scrooge. This year, the audience left the Mansion House and walked to The Shed, setting the scene for this haunting tale.
The strength of the cast contributed to creating this atmospheric and unforgettable production, ably supported by an excellent stage-crew. The costumes were outstanding as always, with the giant ghost of Christmas present puppet particularly impressive, with its imposing presence towering over the cast.
The story embodies a meaningful message, particularly at this time of year, as Scrooge gains a new perspective on life and realises the importance of kindness, generosity, ending the play with some much-needed Christmas spirit.
