The annual Lower House Camp was, as always, a great success, as a mixture of Prep School leavers and pupils completely new to Cokethorpe came together as Lower House for the first time. The feisty First Form pupils spent the night camping in large bell tents in the School grounds and enjoyed a range of challenges, whilst forging new friendships and bonding with their peers.
The first day of activities included kayaking, raft building, orienteering, team building, laser tag and bushcraft skills. The raft building was successful, demonstrating exceptional teamwork, exemplified by the fact that everyone stayed dry! After a warm night’s sleep, all the pupils enjoyed breakfast and were raring to go for another day of team-building activities. By lunchtime, the pupils had completed their carousel of activities and were ready to receive training on their new Surfaces in anticipation of the new academic year.
During the camp, our new First Form made new friends, displayed responsibility and courage, and were complimented on their kindness and manners by the instructors. Once again, the camp had proven to be the perfect start to Senior School life at Cokethorpe.
