Fourth Form CEW week

Jul 4, 2025

The Fourth Form ended their year on a high, taking part in a wide range of exciting CEW trips and activities.

Geography pupils spent their week out and about in various locations, collecting essential data for their GCSE coursework. After a day of preparation in Witney, they endured the heat in Bourton-on-the-Water, studied coastal management at Hengistbury Head, and rounded off the week with refreshing river measurements in Coleshill. Their focus and effort throughout will serve them well in next year’s examinations.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Fourth Form embarked on a carousel of activities. The first of which was a thrilling paintball session at Combat Splat. Experienced Fourth Formers embraced challenging scenarios, especially during the popular ‘Fortress Defence’ and free-for-all finale.

In another CEW adventure, pupils took to the water on a sailing trip to Farmoor Reservoir. After a safety briefing and hands-on boat prep, pupils put their skills to the test in friendly team races. Navigating wind and water required quick thinking, coordination, and confidence, all of which pupils demonstrated in abundance.

The final activity saw pupils lacing up their walking boots for a hike along the Ridgeway, culminating at the Uffington White Horse. A peaceful picnic in the shaded grounds of Ashdown House offered a well-earned rest and a moment to reflect on a packed and positive year.

Whether scaling walls, navigating rivers, or simply walking ancient paths, the Fourth Form showed teamwork, perseverance, and great character throughout, a fantastic finish to a successful year.
