Second Form’s Physical Theatre performance of Journeys in The Shed was ambitious, imaginative, and poignant. Each group blended movement, storytelling, and surrealism showcasing their unique creativity.
The evening began with 2D’s Cheesy Dreams which explored the curious question: what really happens when you eat cheese before bed? This piece was as hilarious as it was haunting, drawing the audience into a dreamscape filled with contorted nightmares. 2C took us on an awe-inspiring voyage into the heart of a quark with Inner Space. This outstanding piece pushed the limits of imagination and movement, portraying the birth and evolution of a tiny universe.
2A’s Time was a whirlwind tour through moments that shaped civilisation. The performance was clever, dynamic, and peppered with surprises. The use of repetition and transitions between eras were smooth and inventive, as a group of children travel through a time portal to influence key moments in history. Closing the evening was the emotionally resonant Life by 2B – a heartfelt piece exploring the trials and triumphs of the human journey. From birth to death, love to loss, the pupils handled weighty themes with maturity and great creativity.
