A Level and BTEC students at Cokethorpe School, Oxfordshire prepare for their next steps on results day.
Like their peers across the country, Cokethorpe’s Upper Sixth students have today received their results, and, in so doing, learnt the outcomes of their efforts over the last months and years.
Our A Level and BTEC students are today celebrating a return of over 30% A*/A grades across the year group. Among them were many notable individual achievements, including a student who earnt all A* results, another with two A*s and two As including their Extended Project Qualification, and another with two A*s an A and an A* in their EPQ
Commenting, the Headmaster, Mr Ettinger, said, ‘Following last year’s record-breaking results for the School, when more than one third of students achieved all A*/A grades, the prospects of bettering or matching those heights which preceded would have required a stellar feat. Whilst we must recognise that our students have not scaled those same lofty elevations, we must also acknowledge that there are copious stories of personal triumph and success, with many of whom achieving at a level beyond that at which they thought themselves capable.
‘This year group have contributed substantially to the life of the School during their time with us. We all look forward to hearing of the rich and varied successes that undoubtedly await them all as they embark on their next chapters.
‘Achievement is never obtained in isolation, and I would like to acknowledge our students’ parents and their teachers, whose steadfast support and dedication over the years has helped prepare the students so well. My thanks and congratulations to you all.’
